Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is the discovery of a piano in her attic and becoming fascinated by the sounds it would make. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music. Not for an income or to pursue just a pastime, but to develop. Her first step was to compose her own songs. Alongside Bjork and Bjork, she also credits Leonard Cohen as an influence. Her mom encouraged her to sing her music in front of the public, but not so that she could become famous but rather inspire others to realize just how important their voices are and how they could do to improve the world. She began playing the piano at age six and creating music when she was nine. They didn't let her parents know about her musical journey until she was fourteen. Aurora was not a goal. The actress claims that she likes creating songs. To her, music is the best method to express anything.
